Jay B Starkey Wilderness Park
This beauty of a park is big enough to contain its own solar system - sort of. It has picnic spots, a playground, hiking trails, biking trails, and a paved path over a mile long with signs along it placed to show the relative distances of the planets from the sun. There are stunningly beautiful zones of thin trees that let in much sunlight. In other places the brush is thicker, creating semi-secluded areas. The ground is soft and covered in crushed pine needles in most places. One spot to the side of the trail has pine needles piled up so thick that they make a sort of crunchy mattress. There are also places of white sand. Live oaks are common. Keep an eye peeled for numerous gopher tortoises and armadillos and the occasional snake.
